Great success for VAARHAFT. The start-up took second place in the Founder’s Award, which was presented for the 19th time by the Junior Chamber of Commerce of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The Founder’s Award comes with prize money totaling €20,000+ and coaching sessions.
VAARHAFT has developed software that detects fake photos and videos within seconds. This is particularly important in the age of AI, which makes it easy to create deceptively real photos and videos. For example, it can be used to detect fraud attempts in insurance claims or to assess the authenticity of news stories more quickly.
The three founders, Anne Patzer (COO), Linus Kameni (CEO), and Paul Franken (CTO), were supported in their journey to founding the company by the Startup Bridge at Wedel University of Applied Sciences and Startup Port.
First place went to the startup Aortex, which has developed a technology that allows stent grafts, which are needed to treat aneurysms, to be manufactured quickly and tailored to the individual needs of patients. Third place went to Tiny Technologies. The company develops dietary supplements in the form of sprays that are said to work significantly faster and more effectively than conventional products.
