Discover how Mambio, the innovative learning app from neurodactics, is revolutionising maths education and teaching children important skills through play. Startup Port supported the business development. Following the recent alarming PISA results, Mambio offers a scientifically sound, child-orientated solution that is fun and effective.
According to the latest PISA results, German pupils are facing major challenges with only 479 points in maths. The worst result since the surveys began emphasises the need for innovative educational approaches. This is where the startup neurodactics comes in with its learning app Mambio, which now covers the number range up to 100 and offers a child-friendly, scientifically sound method for improving maths skills.
Science and practice hand in hand
Developed by an interdisciplinary team of researchers and educators, Mambio is based on the latest scientific findings and direct child participation. Elisabeth Meier, a mother, reports enthusiastically on the positive development of her daughter: ‘From “Maths is stupid!” to “Mum, can I do Mambio?” – a change that happens while playing.’ This transformative experience reflects the effectiveness of Mambio’s play-based approach.
A game changer in education
Mambio is more than just a learning app; it’s an adventure that takes children through exciting stories while integrating maths. With adaptive learning methods tailored to children’s individual abilities, Mambio enables independent learning of basic arithmetic and set pictures, even for children who cannot yet read.
Business milestones and visionary goals
neurodactics has made progress not only educationally, but also commercially. The latest successful financing round with Fabian Kröher as lead investor promises to realise Mambio’s ambitions and further scale the app. Dr Torben Rieckmann, co-founder of neurodactics, sees this as the beginning of an educational revolution in which every child is supported according to their individual abilities.
Plans for the future
With fresh capital and strong partners such as the startup Port, neurodactics wants to further develop the technology behind Mambio and expand it to other areas of education. The aim is to make maths and possibly other subjects accessible to all children in order to improve not only their chances at school, but also their lifelong learning experiences.
About Mambio
Mambio is a product of neurodactics GmbH, a spin-off of the University of Hamburg. The company is based at the ‘Digital Reality’ research transfer centre of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW). Thanks to the close link between science and practice, the app is being continuously developed to give all children better access to maths.
