This week saw the opening of the new Körber Start-Hub in HafenCity, which offers an open space for young makers who want to help shape society. With its programmes, the Start-Hub aims to strengthen social entrepreneurial thinking and action among people under 30 and raise awareness of social challenges. The Opening Week (4 to 10 December) offers numerous events and offers.
A milestone for the Hamburg start-up scene: this week, the Körber Start-Hub opens its doors in HafenCity. The opening ceremony, attended by the Senator for Economic Affairs Melanie Leonhard and the Chairman of the Körber Foundation, Lothar Dittmer, emphasised the importance of the hub as a place for exchange and innovation. At the subsequent after-work event, the incubator participants presented their ideas and the Körber Start Hub premises could be discovered while enjoying music, drinks and finger food.
This 500 square metre creative space is aimed at young social entrepreneurs under the age of 30 and is intended to serve as a centre for innovative and sustainable business ideas. With well-equipped workstations, meeting rooms and versatile event areas, the hub offers a good framework for developing ideas and taking the first steps towards setting up a business.
The hub is not just a workplace, but an ecosystem that offers workshops, advice and regular events to strengthen the network of social entrepreneurs. With afterwork events, music and networking, the opening week reflects the vibrant and supportive community that the Hub fosters.
