As part of Female Entrepreneurship Week – organized by HAW Hamburg/Startup Port as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week – this exclusive session will highlight the unique challenges and successes of rising as a female founder with a tech startup.
After an inspiring keynote speech by Qiao Zhang, several experienced female founders will talk about their personal careers and provide insights into their experiences of building successful start-ups.

Impulse : From “EmPower” to “InPower
The etymology of “empower” essentially means to give individuals or groups the ability or authority to take control or make decisions in a particular context. But apart from other people empowering us, WE need to discover the power from within to make decisions and take control confidently and without prejudice. Where does this power come from and what robs it? What could our PowerCompass look like? In this talk, Qiao will share some observations and reflections based on her own journey and experiences coaching and supporting women leaders.

Qiao Zhang, Program Director for Women Leadership Excellence at ESMT Berlin, is also an ICF Professional Certified Coach and a Gallup Certified CliftonStrength Coach. She is passionate about strength-based leadership and transition, team dynamics and collaboration. Before joining ESMT Berlin, Qiao worked as a Brand Manager at Unilever China for 5 years before completing her MBA at IESE Business School in Barcelona. In the last 12 years in Germany, she worked for Bayer Business Consulting, Amazon and GROHE AG as Sales & Marketing Consultant, Program Management Officer and Learning & Development Team Lead.
