This seminar provides in-depth knowledge of the use of boilerplate clauses in international contracts. Many terms of “Legal English” seem familiar, but have a completely different meaning than in everyday life (“false friends”). This can lead to considerable misunderstandings in contract negotiations. In the seminar, different levels and registers of English and technical and general terminology are practiced in group and individual work. Students can bring their topics into the discussions. The seminar will be held in English for the most part.
It is aimed at all those who have participated in the seminar “Business Contracts in English”, as well as at people who already have prior knowledge of Anglo-Saxon contract law or who are already intensively involved with English contracts, starting from the management level up to the operational level.
