Our commitment to accessibility

The Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG) came into force on June 28, 2025. This law aims to make digital products and services in the European Union more accessible and remove barriers. Although the BFSG does not impose any mandatory requirements on B2B websites like ours, it is important to us at Startup Port to enable all users to access our information and services.

Why accessibility is important to us

As a project dedicated to supporting students, researchers and academics on their path to knowledge and technology-based business creation from a higher education and research context, we want to ensure that everyone – regardless of individual ability – has access to information about our work and services. Even though our core services are not handled directly through the website, we want to minimize potential barriers to make it as easy as possible to work with us and make progress together in the areas of innovation, technology and business creation.

Our accessibility measures

We are constantly working to make our website as accessible as possible. In doing so, we are guided by the requirements of the European standard EN 301 549, which serves as the basis for accessible digital content. Our measures include the following:

  • Improving user-friendliness: We are optimizing the navigation and structure of our website so that it is easily accessible for all users.
  • Technical adaptations: We are improving the compatibility of our website with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.
  • Visual accessibility: We pay attention to sufficient contrasts, clear fonts and an intuitive design to make it easier for everyone to use.
  • Feedback options: If you encounter any barriers, we would be pleased to receive your feedback in order to further improve our website.

Legal information and contact

Even if we are not legally obliged to meet the requirements of the Barrier-free Accessibility Reinforcement Act, we voluntarily implement measures that comply with its principles.
