04.07.24 – Successful Completion of the 3rd INTIE Cohort!<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Last week, we wrapped up an exciting event on July 4th, showcasing a year of effort by our startup teams.
Over the past year, participants received extensive support from Startup Port, partners, and experts, including resources, mentorship, and a collaborative environment to turn their visions into reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 4th, our teams presented their refined ideas to a panel of judges. Each team had worked tirelessly, and it was their moment to shine. We enjoyed music, delicious food from Chickpeace, and post-pitch discussions. Some teams were already planning to implement their ideas and seek investment.
The top three teams received prizes, including pre-selection for the Next. Gen Incubator (K\u00f6rber Start-Hub) and invitations to the Hamburg Innovation Summit in late 2024. The winning team got the chance to attend the Summit, offering a platform to elevate their startup. We also provided access to exclusive networking and lunch events to support and expose our promising startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recognition of their hard work and commitment, all participants received certificates from our Jury Members, we had an amazing photo session, and it was enjoyable to see everyone pitching in.
Also, our partners’ backing helps us organise such great events.
The final pitches were evaluated by a diverse panel of judges, which included professors Paul Drews from the Leuphana University of L\u00fcneburg, a program manager Thorben Koop from IFB, Community Innoimpact, Laura Savoca from Otto Krahn Group, Anika Hamester, Nono Weinzierl from Orbit – orbitdigital.de and other established professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best part about such a panel is the feedback from five different perspectives, finance, and industry-ensuring a well-rounded assessment of each startup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The skills, knowledge, and networks these students have built over the past year are invaluable. We celebrate their achievements and look forward to seeing how they will innovate and impact the world. We might see the next big company emerge from one of these pitches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

26.06.24 – NEGOTIATION SESSION with MARTIN!<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

When was the last time you actually practised negotiating, or do you still need to do so?

On the 26th of June, we had a 2-hour negotiation session with <\/a>Martin Pilch<\/a> from Impact Negotiation Group<\/a>. Some basic principles of negotiation and other related concepts were discussed in this successful event. The session started with the concept of how we as humans act and behave in negotiations because how we act and behave forms a crucial part of the negotiation since people negotiate with people. One of the implied points was the “Theory about the dimensions of negotiation”. There are lots of theories around negotiation, but only a few are useful when it comes to the process of negotiation.

The main takeaway was that if you want to maximise the results of a negotiation, you need to do two things. Firstly, you need to prepare properly and secondly, you need to practice. We have all heard the saying “practice makes perfect” and this is exactly the saying that needs to be put into practice to become a skilled negotiator, so Martin ran through a couple of cases, the first case was about negotiating the price of an expensive clock and the second case was about a tricky situation where a restaurant was due to hold an event but it was overbooked.

Ultimately, you want to get the other party to close on their worst outcome, because that is your best case, but you still need to create a high level of satisfaction for the other party. Last but not least, if you want to get better, if you want to get more out of the negotiation: practice, practice, practice.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

31.01.24<\/strong> – REVIEW OF AN INCREDIBLE EVENING AT SpiceVR Lab!<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of hosting an unforgettable event at Spice VR Lab and it was simply fantastic!\u2028A big thank you goes to Rouven Seifert and Nicolas Chibac for their outstanding support and for making this event possible. And let’s not forget the incredible fun we had from the INTIE programme at Spice VR – the energy and enthusiasm was truly infectious!\u2028\u2028The evening was full of innovation and learning opportunities and marked the perfect end to an exciting first term. But you know what? We’re already gearing up for next term and looking forward to the kick-off!\u2028For those who couldn’t be there, here’s a quick recap of what you missed: \u2028\u2028
An exciting VR journey through Namibia to start the evening and an up-close experience with cutting-edge VR technology – An interactive survey in collaboration with the University of Hamburg, contributing to important research in VR and entrepreneurship – A captivating talk by Nicolas, the CEO of Spherie GmbH & SpiceVR, where we were able to experience the latest VR trends as well as his start-up journey But the highlights also included the subsequent opportunities to explore the VRHQ and try out the games.\u2028Many thanks to everyone who took part and contributed to the success of the event.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

26.01.24<\/strong> – BIG OPPORTUNITY PITCH! <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Last Wednesday it was time for the final pitches of the first INTIE semester. The aim was to discover opportunity fields that would be interesting for an impact start-up based on trend and market research.
The teams presented their ideas, which covered many areas from personalised food platforms to sustainable medical devices and sustainable fashion and got valuable feedback from our practice partners, professors and alumni. Thank you K\u00f6rber Start-Hub for hosting the event! We are looking forward to the second semester!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

12.12.23<\/strong> – HOW CAN FOOD WASTE BE REDUCED?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

We don’t have the solution (yet), but at the INTIE session, we had the opportunity to take part in a workshop on “Design Thinking” held by Patricia Brauer and Alexander B\u00f6hning from the Otto Group at the @AGILE CENTER and learn about new approaches to get a little closer to the solution. The participants had worked out social challenges and associated problems in small groups in advance, which were then addressed in the workshop using the design thinking method. The workshop was incredibly inspiring and showed us how we can solve complex problems with creative thinking and empathy. We are excited about how design thinking can help us make the world a better place.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

01.12.23<\/strong> – FAIL AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Orbit – orbitdigital.de (Orbit works closely with their partners, utilising resources to scale proven business models. The start-ups they build generate sustainable growth). During our visit to Orbit, we received fascinating insights from Timo M\u00f6ller-Gomez and Nono Weinzierl, who have been supporting INTIE since the beginning. They shared their insights on how they build ventures with established companies – a topic we were particularly interested in. We were given clear insights into their process, from idea generation to founding start-ups in collaboration with corporations. The key message was that early failure is the path to long-term success. In this way, you not only save time and effort but also make a targeted investment in sustainable success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

28.11.23<\/strong> – WELCOME INTIE CLASS OF 2023\/24! <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The first few days of the INTIE Program, which spans multiple semesters, were truly remarkable.
As we kicked off the program, we were thrilled to witness the enthusiasm and potential of the highly qualified and diverse group of students who joined us. One of the highlights of the event was the alumni sharing their invaluable experiences, showcasing their commitment to remaining an integral part of our community. Their insights and guidance will undoubtedly play an important role in shaping the journey of our new cohort. Lukas and David from mo:re<\/a> left a lasting impression on our budding entrepreneurs, inspiring them to fearlessly embark on their own entrepreneurial journeys. Furthermore, Birte from Impact Hub Network<\/a> Hamburg transported us into the sustainable world of potential startup impacts, further igniting the passion within our new cohort. The team-building activities, skillfully led by Oliver Schmidt at Teamwerft<\/a>, instilled a sense of camaraderie and unity among the participants, forming a solid foundation for their future collaborations. This third cohort is particularly exciting as we have opened our doors to non-German-speaking students by conducting the program entirely in English. As a result, we now have representation from four different universities, spanning numerous countries and various fields of study. The potential and diversity within our cohort are truly staggering. \ud83d\ude80<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

04.07.23<\/strong> – FINAL PITCHES <\/h5>\n\n\n\n


Successful final pitches of the INTIE class of 2022\/23! \ud83d\ude80 WE DID IT!  This year\u2019s INTIE cohort successfully pitched their promising ideas in front of a big audience at the Startup Port Community Day. Afterwards, the certificates of participation were officially handed over, celebrating the last two semesters together with the professors and practice partners. During the event, the teams were also able to make important contacts in the startup world while looking forward to continuing to work on their business ideas beyond the program.

17.05.23 <\/strong>– WHAT’S ON?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

While the teams continue to work dedicatedly on their start-up ideas in parallel to the weekly INTIE meetings, they get supportive input in the joint sessions! \ud83e\udd1d As guests, we welcomed Prof. Michael Gielnik from Leuphana University \ud83c\udf93, who gave us an exciting insight into his research field “Entrepreneurial Psychology” and drew the connection to Entrepreneurial Teams like ours. We also got helpful tips from Jan Schnedler, an expert and book author on startup law. Finally, the topic was negotiation. In a 3-hour workshop, Joachim Gassert from “The Negotiation Studio” taught us valuable negotiation tricks that can be of great importance to us as aspiring founders!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

01.04.23 <\/strong>– KICK-OFF DAYS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start of the second semester! Here we go again!\u00a0
Parallel to the start of the next university semester, the\u00a0INTIE cohort also started the summer semester of 2023.\u00a0During three intensive Kick-Off Days, the teams grew even closer together and worked through their business ideas with the support of the professors. \ud83d\udcad\u00a0The main aim was to look at the business concept they had developed from the consumer’s perspective.\u00a0The INTIEs gained interesting information through interviews they conducted themselves. \ud83d\udca1 At the end of the three days, the participants were allowed to pitch their results to our practice partners and professors and thus take helpful feedback with them into the next round.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

05.03.23 <\/strong>– SEMESTER BREAK<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the lecture-free period, which also represents a break in the official INTIE events, the participants have the opportunity to take another private look at their INTIE business ideas so that the next semester can start with fresh thoughts.

01.02.23 <\/strong>– FIRST SEMESTER IS OVER!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The great conclusion of the first INTIE semester took place in assembled company: For the last presentations and following discussions, in which the final four teams presented their developed topics and opportunities in the areas of #EnergySupply, #HumanResources and #CircularEconomy, all INTIE professors, as well as our practice partners from Orbit, Deloitte, Otto Krahn Group and the Otto Group, were invited. \ud83e\udd1d We are looking forward to an equally interesting second semester, with an exciting design thinking workshop on the agenda as a first step. \u2705\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

18.01.23 <\/strong>– THE JOURNEY CONTINUES! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last weeks, the #INTIES asked themselves: Which strategic search fields could be interesting for possible #start-up ideas?\ud83d\udca1 What is the market situation and what needs and problems do users have in this field? So that a business opportunity can emerge from the results, final teams were formed, which are now waiting in the wings to plunge into their project!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

21.12.22<\/strong> – END-OF-YEAR-UPDATE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year can’t end without an update from our INTIEs! In December, the participants still took away exciting things. Highlights were an exclusive insight including a lecture at the ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research as well as the presentation by Dr. Rouven Seifert from the University of Hamburg \ud83c\udf93 on the topic: Markets – Competitive Market Analysis and Valuation.
With this input, the search for your own business idea will certainly be really easy next year – new year, new ideas!\ud83c\udf1f<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In addition to their own extensive work on the topic of #futuretrends, the participants of the certificate program Interdisciplinary Innovation & Entrepreneurship received plenty of exciting input: As guests, we welcomed Yannick Unterlauf from Deloitte with an interesting tech trend impulse and Nono Weinzierl and Timo M\u00f6ller-Gomez from Orbit on the topic of #venturebuilding and a subsequent enriching discussion.\ud83d\udcad
In addition, we were able to listen to an inspiring talk by Fridtjof Detzner from Planet A Ventures at the Hamburg Future Conference and got an insight into the young company GoodBytz, which develops intelligent kitchen robots.

In November 2022, this year’s Interdisciplinary Innovation & Entrepreneurship certificate program kicked off!
