This is the highest half-year figure since statistical surveys began in 2008. Compared to the first half of 2023, this corresponds to an increase of a good two percent. Despite a simultaneous increase in business closures by 15 percent to 1,467, the balance remains positive: a total of 1,445 more businesses were founded than closed.   <\/p>\n<div class=\"group\/conversation-turn relative flex w-full min-w-0 flex-col agent-turn\">\n<div class=\"flex-col gap-1 md:gap-3\">\n<div class=\"flex max-w-full flex-col flex-grow\">\n<div class=\"min-h-[20px] text-message flex w-full flex-col items-end gap-2 break-words [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-5 overflow-x-auto whitespace-pre-wrap\" dir=\"auto\" data-message-author-role=\"assistant\" data-message-id=\"3cc6ef70-948f-497e-9dbc-f8e279a718bd\">\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-col gap-1 empty:hidden first:pt-[3px]\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose w-full break-words dark:prose-invert dark\">\n<p>There were 1.5 business start-ups per 1,000 inhabitants in Hamburg. The start-up rates varied: in the districts of Harburg, Wandsbek and Bergedorf, the rate was 0.8, while it was highest in Hamburg-Mitte at 3.6.
