One result of the Greentech Monitor 2026 from the Startup Association shows that a particularly large number of startups in the field of sustainable technologies emerge from universities and research institutions and thus transform scientific excellence into marketable solutions.
With its focus on advising and supporting knowledge-based and technological start-ups, the Startup Port ties in directly with this development and contributes to strengthening Hamburg as a greentech ecosystem and hotspot for sustainable innovations.
The financing situation also looks positive for greentech. Just under 25% of the venture capital invested in Germany flowed into this sector. Even though significantly more funds are invested in sustainable start-ups internationally, founders from the greentech sector prefer Germany to other European countries.
